Family Photos at The Narrows

Capturing this season of life.

We recently had family photos taken at The Narrows in Virginia Beach with Ashley Brickner Photography.

Family photos are always worth having, even if getting them done with kids takes a little effort. There are outfits to pull together, hair to fix, kids to keep somewhat clean, and plenty of little moving pieces — but that is part of what makes the final images feel so real.

It is also part of this season of life, and exactly why I’m always grateful when we make the time to do it.

Ashley captured our family in such a natural way. Nothing felt overly posed or forced, and the beach gave the kids space to move, laugh, and be themselves. The Narrows was a beautiful backdrop for that — simple, coastal, and very Virginia Beach.

The best family photos, in my opinion, are the ones where you can almost hear the laughter, feel the breeze, and remember exactly what life felt like in that season.

These photos feel like us right now: busy, growing, a little imperfect, and worth remembering.
