Season of the Witch: Our Halloween Photo Tradition
A Little Halloween Magic

I’ve tried convincing my boys I’m a witch since they were little. Naturally, when their sister arrived, she inherited a little magic, too. Now, dressing up my little witch has become a Halloween photo tradition of its own.
Each October, I braid Elle’s strawberry hair into little pigtails and dress her in her witchy best, with her doll dressed to match. Miniature broom in hand and a pointed hat perched on her head, she floats through the crisp, fall leaves while I follow with my camera. Three years in, it’s a little bit of make-believe I hope we hold onto for a long time.
This year, the wind kept stealing her hat. Her frustrated scowl was perfectly in character.
I’ve already tucked away larger sizes of her dress for future Octobers. Thankfully, dolls don’t grow, so her little companion is set. Now, if only I could cast a spell to freeze time and keep her little forever.
If you have a little witch of your own, you can shop the matching dresses here.
Below are a few favorite moments from this year’s spellbinding adventure.
