A naturally sweetened, grain-free kid snack.

These banana peanut butter muffins have quietly become one of those grab-and-go snacks I like having on hand — especially on afternoons when we’re heading straight from school to practice, games, or anywhere that requires real energy.
They’re simple, grain-free, and naturally sweetened, made with just ripe bananas, eggs, nut butter, and a touch of honey. Nothing fancy, but exactly the kind of snack that works in real life. And yes — they’re calorie-dense thanks to the peanut butter, which is actually part of the reason I like them.
These aren’t meant to be a “diet” muffin. They’re meant to fill kids up and keep them satisfied. The combination of healthy fats and protein helps provide more steady energy, making them a great option for active kids who need fuel to carry them through busy afternoons.
I think of these as a smart swap for ultra-processed snacks — or for the inevitable moment when kids start reaching for spoonfuls of peanut butter on their own (if you know, you know). One muffin goes a long way, and they’re easy to prep ahead and keep in the fridge for the week.

Ingredients
Makes 9 muffins
2 ripe bananas
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons honey
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 cup peanut butter (or any nut or seed butter)
Chocolate chips to your hearts desire

Directions
Preheat the oven to 400°F and lightly grease a muffin tin or line with silicone liners.
In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas until mostly smooth.
Add the eggs, vanilla, honey, baking powder, and nut butter. Mix well until fully combined.
Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Divide the batter evenly among 9 muffin cups, filling each about halfway.
Sprinkle a few extra chocolate chips on top, if desired.
Bake for 8–10 minutes, until set and lightly golden on top.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool before serving.
Nothing overcomplicated. Just one of those little kitchen wins that makes snack time easier when life is moving fast. I hope your kiddos enjoy!
