Lemon Cayenne Ginger Shot

This Lemon Cayenne Ginger Shot is a must-have during cold and flu season! Packed with immune-boosting ingredients, it’s perfect for helping your body fight off the latest cold. Keep it in your fridge for up to 5 days or freeze it for a quick wellness boost whenever you need it!

Why You’ll Love It

This vibrant shot combines ginger, lemon, turmeric, cayenne, and honey to deliver a powerful blend of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, and immune-boosting benefits. Ginger aids digestion and reduces nausea, while lemon provides a healthy dose of vitamin C to keep your immune system in top shape. Turmeric’s anti-inflammatory properties are widely praised, and cayenne helps to kick-start your metabolism. Honey not only adds natural sweetness but also soothes the throat and offers antibacterial benefits.

Simple to Make

This recipe requires just a handful of ingredients and a blender, making it perfect for busy mornings or as a quick pick-me-up during the day. After blending the ingredients into a smooth puree, filter through a mesh strainer to extract the liquid. Pour the mixture into glasses and enjoy immediately for a burst of energy and wellness.

Refresh or Freeze for Later

What’s even better? This ginger shot is versatile. If you make a larger batch, pour the extra liquid into an ice cube tray and freeze it. You’ll have wellness cubes ready to go—simply pop one into a glass of water or tea for a refreshing drink. You can also keep in airtight containers for up to 5 days in the refrigerator.

Ingredients

• ½ cup ginger root, cut into small pieces (peel on)

• 3 lemons, juiced

• 1 orange (or grapefruit), peeled and quartered

• ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder

• 1 tablespoon honey

• ⅛ teaspoon ground cayenne

• ½ cup water (optional)

Directions

  1. Wash the ginger. Leave the peel on and slice it into thin pieces.

  2. Add all of the ingredients except for the water into a food processor and blend on high until the mixture is pureed and smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add the water and puree again.

  3. Position a mesh strainer over a bowl then slowly pour in the ginger puree mixing with a spoon to get as much liquid out as you can. Clean the strainer as you go, scooping out the pulp and set aside.

  4. Pour the strained liquid into airtight containers to reserve or enjoy 2oz immediately! Reserves will keep in airtight containers for up to 5 days in the refrigerator.

  5. I then place the salvaged pulp into ice molds, top with water and freeze to take out and use when sick for a potent immune boost.

Incorporating this Lemon Cayenne Ginger Shot into your routine is a small but impactful step toward better health. Whether you take it first thing in the morning to jump-start your day or as an afternoon energy boost, this shot is sure to become a staple in your wellness arsenal.

So, grab your ingredients and get blending. Your body will thank you for this delicious and health-packed treat!
