Partnering with other mom-owned businesses to make the holiday special.
With Mother's Day just around the corner and after already celebrating Easter and three birthdays, including my 37th in COVID-19 quarantine, I was determined to find a way to make the holiday special.
I had seen a few friends posting pictures on social media from 'social distancing' porch photoshoots and loved the idea! So I reached out to photographer and gal pal, Skylar Wyatt to see if she would be game to put together a set of mini shoots in my neighborhood. She nailed down a date and looped in her talented friend and baker, Kelsey, owner of Shortcake's Sweets who offered up beautifully decorated goodies as a part of the Mother's Day package. I then connected with The Wandering Petal owner, Nicole, to place a order for flowers that I would then gift to the participating neighborhood moms. After all of the details were ironed out, I reached out to our neighbors via email and our private Facebook group, inviting them to participate.
The day of the shoot, my two little helpers (Grant + Nathan) delivered the flowers to the deserving mamas along with a note from me letting them know their participation helped support three local mom-owned businesses; something that has become more important than ever in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis. Skylar also graciously committed a portion of the proceeds toward a local non-profit, the Begin Again Foundation, that has been supplying meals to frontline healthcare heroes.
Coming together in support of one another and finding new ways to celebrate each other is such a beautiful thing. Click logos below to learn more about these mom-owned businesses:
